League of Legends is known to be one of the most popular and successful online multiplayer games of all time. Attracting hundreds of millions of fans worldwide, League of Legends (otherwise known as L.O.L.) has become a status symbol and past time for some groups. As with any symbol of status, people fall into their competitive nature and reach to become the "best" status symbol. How is this done?
Whenever dealing with the intrinsic constructs of the game, we can see that the quality of players is segmented by something called "Rank". The Ranking system is broken down as follows (in order from lowest rank at the top to Highest rank at the bottom):
Within each of these ranks exist 5 general segments of sub-ranks, I/II/III/VI/V, each defined by its own parameters. Whenever trying to climb these parameters it is necessary to accumulate something called ELO. ELO is a gauge of players skill level. According to the League official website: "ELO" is the hidden number, aka "Match Making Ratio/Rating (MMR)", that dictates what sliver of player quality one plays in. This hierarchical structure causes many fans to bend the rules and look for ways to skip as many tiers, as quickly as possible. Hello, ELO boosting.
Elo boosting is the term used to describe actions taken to subvert the ranking system and scale to the higher tiers of game play. How can somebody take part in ELO boosting? A few ways actually. One of the more popular ways is to go online and find professional services or players that will take money in return for advancing peoples accounts; they log into your account and play at their skill levels. If giving up your account details doesn't sit well with the person, then there is another option! Make friends with people who are already at high ranks and play matchmade games with them. The League algorithm will register that as a huge spike in skill and pump the account with appropriate ELO points. See also master overwatch for more information.
Happy Gaming. Happy Boosting. Happy Flaming.
